All right, here comes part 2 of a multi-session rant against the present dictatorship ruling our country. To point out just how far we’ve been lead from the founder’s intent for this country, I use our Declaration of Independece as the focal point. Part 2 should at least get us nearly through the first part of the document. Though the grievences that we have against this fascist state have been far more more blasphemous than this blog could ever finish covering. Once again, here comes a portion of a copy of this document for those of you too lazy to actually look it up. Also, the entire document can be found just to the right (it’s the second one from the top of the blogroll).
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
Okay, let’s look at the powers given the government. They are those that are just and conferred upon them by the consent of the people. We, would be the people. And just how just is our government? I’d say not too much in that regard. The federal government’s attempt to eradicate jury nullification, one of the last remaining priviliges granted towards us in helping to shape our legal system, is but one of many areas in which the people have become outsiders in their own government. That’s right, as the late George Carlin said, government is a big club, and you ain’t part of it. Okay, the quote’s not exact, but you get the point. I hope so anyway.
Note that I said privilige and not right. Rights are taken, privilidges are granted. Men/Women have rights. Pussies follow the rules and get priviliges. Go ahead and accept your scraps of illusionary freedoms from your masters. Free people only deserve and get rights. Fuck the rest. That’s all they deserve. It may sound cold, but you can only lead a horse to water. Fear keeps people from asserting themselves to their full stature. Fear of terrorists. Fear of a random murder shown on the news from halfway around the world. Fear of Big Brother. The black boots marching on orders.
I ask you to think about how many lies this government, or even this administration, has been caught in. The WMD in Iraq, Al Quaida, Afghanistan, The War on (some) drugs, the list goes on. How many government agencies have been uncovered by the vigilant as being totally corruptted by outside influences? The EPA? The FDA? How many more?
Why are we tolerating this? Why do we only have two parties when the country clearly wants more choices? When did the Democans and Republicats become the only party in town? Why do we not follow the duty we have been given in this document? That of revolution. Why? Because we have all been raised to believe we can’t do anything about it. That one person can’t make a difference. Bullshit. Tell that to Jesus Christ, Buddha, Mahatma Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Malcom X, and the list goes on. And if you still believe that one person can’t make a difference, then why are you voting for anyone at all? After all, they can’t make a difference either. Not any more than you can.
We may have all been mis-lead, but that doesn’t mean we have to keep our heads up our ass. We could stand up tall and be counted. But why don’t we? Is this nation so weak-willed that we no longer have faith in ourselves? If so, then we are doomed to third world status. And we deserve it.
Personally, I believe in revolution. Peaceful if possible. It is time we practised being an example of how a truly free country lives their freedom. How we can stand tall and be counted. How about you?
